At Oviva, we assign you your own certified coach who will review your eating and lifestyle habits, any pre-existing conditions, blood tests and other factors. Together, you’ll create a personalised plan, and you will receive recommendations that accommodate your personal lifestyle. Our app will also provide an additional source of support. Use the app to take photos of what you eat and record your symptoms, activities, weight and mood. Find out more on our homepage.

Oviva is suitable for anyone who wants to improve their health, whether you want to reach a desired weight, positively influence an illness or tailor your diet to a fitness regime. Your qualified coach will support and motivate you on your journey. They will work with you to integrate a tailored diet into your day-to-day life and make lasting changes. Your health insurance provider will cover the cost of the service (minus the excess) when a medical referral is given.

Dietary advice is covered by standard health insurance (less the excess) in Switzerland, if you receive a medical referral for the service. Use our contact form to enquire whether you meet the requirements for a referral.

The Oviva app can be downloaded and used free of charge. Personal support via the app is included in the therapy offer and is charged as part of it.

Of course! We want you to make long-term changes to your diet and we’re happy if the app helps you do that. Please note that your coach will not answer chat messages once your programme has finished.

If you don’t have access to a smartphone or the internet, you can still receive our personal dietary advice over the phone or, where possible, in person in a medical practice.

There are two ways to do this: register digitally by using our contact form or speak to your doctor about a referral for dietary advice.

You can choose to take part via app, video call, in person in a medical practice or by phone. You are in control of how and where you’d like to take part. You can find more information under Dietary advice.

Please contact your coach by phone or contact our head office. Please note that if you cancel your session less than 24 hours in advance, we will have to charge you the full amount. We ask for your understanding in this regard, as we work with set sessions during fixed working hours and we are unable to offer your appointment to anyone else at short notice.

Nutrition goes far beyond a daily energy supply for your body – it influences both your mental and physical wellbeing. A balanced diet can increase your productivity and overall happiness, as well as contribute to your overall wellbeing. A healthy lifestyle can reduce the risk of common illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease and high blood pressure. Professional dietary advice enables you to improve your health and prevent illness.

There is no professional regulation around the title of ‘dietitian’. Qualified dietitians, however, are specialists in the field of nutrition. They have a science degree and broad foundational training which is recognised by the Bundesamt für Berufsbildung und Technologie (BBT or the Swiss Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology).

Especially when you’re in the early stages of changing your diet, it can be helpful to keep a complete photographic food log for you and your coach to use. This helps you increase your awareness of your eating habits and gives your coach a more detailed overview. It is for you and your coach to decide what works best for you.

You can add comments to your photos with information regarding ingredients and quantity, if you think this is useful for your coach. Your coach sees the same images as you do, only bigger.

You will get the best results if you work with your coach, ask questions and are honest if you are unsure about anything. In addition, make sure you complete the lessons on your app and regularly record your eating habits, physical activity and weight.

This depends on the goals you have set for yourself and how hard you work on them. Since everyone has a different starting point, the first results come at different times for everyone. When trying to lose weight, set yourself a realistic and safe goal of losing between 0.5 and 1 kg a week.

How long coaching lasts depends on your requirements. As a rule, dietary coaching lasts between 6 and 12 months and includes up to 12 coaching sessions. Depending on your diagnosis, you may find more appointments helpful. Health insurance may support patients requiring additional sessions depending on your medical treatment.

For optimal activity and weight tracking, we recommend a pedometer (such as a Fitbit) and wireless scales (such as the Fitbit Aria or the Withings Body models). Apps that link with the Apple HealthKit and Google Fit, can also be linked to the Oviva app, so that your coach is automatically informed of your daily steps and weight. This gives you and your coach a good insight into your progress. These are helpful tools, however they are not essential when receiving dietary coaching supported by the Oviva app.

We take data protection very seriously and treat your data with the utmost discretion. All personal data such as name, address and exchanges with your coach are treated as strictly confidential. Your data is stored and processed by Google Cloud Platform on servers in Germany. We delete all your data from our systems when you request this via email at kontakt@oviva.ch. Oviva materials (such as questionnaires, guides, worksheets, etc.) may only be passed on to third parties only with Oviva’s written consent.

If you have a medical referral, your health insurance will cover our services (less the excess). If you would like a session without a referral, you can pay by bank transfer or credit card. Please review our costs and benefits.

The Oviva app is suitable for Apple and Android smartphones. For Apple devices, you can find the Oviva app in the App Store and for Android devices, use Google Play. Please note that your coach will need to activate your account before you can use the Oviva app.
