What happens on the programme?

Oviva Way to Wellness provides personalised support from a specialist weight Management dietitian, health coach, exercise therapist and clinical psychologist or psychological wellbeing practitioner, along with a range of useful resources to help you form sustainable healthy habits to keep your weight loss long term.

The aims of the programme are:

  • To achieve a clinically significant weight loss of at least 5% 
  • To improve the quality of your diet 
  • To improve your mental health and well-being
  • To increase activity levels
  • To help you to build healthy habits, reach your personal goals, and lead a healthier, happier lifestyle     
  • To reduce your risk of obesity-related health complications   
  • Because the programme is fully remote, you can access the programme from anywhere and receive coaching at a time that suits you. 
Are carers and family members able to join the coaching sessions

Yes, you can include a carer or family member in your coaching sessions. However, we encourage you to attend the Psychology sessions without carers, friends or family members as often personal issues can be discussed.

Why do I need to provide weight measurements?

As we are a remote weight management programme we are unable to do a traditional weigh-in, which is what would happen if you took part in a face-to-face or group programme.

For this reason, we ask everyone who takes part to provide regular weight updates so that we can review your progress throughout the programme. This will also allow your healthare team to monitor your progress and tailor the advice and recommendations they give to support you to achieve your weight loss goals.

Do I need a smartphone to join?

You can choose to take part in the programme digitally using our online resources and app, or you can access an offline programme if you don’t have a smartphone or would prefer phone calls. You are in control and can interact with your personal dietitian in the best way for you.

Who can I contact if I have a question?

Oviva’s Patient Pathway Coordinators are available Monday to Friday 8am – 8pm and Saturday 9am-5pm to answer any queries. Outside of these hours the team has an answer phone which is reviewed daily and you can expect a call back within 24 hours. Please contact the Patient Pathway Coordinator team on 02076224777.

I’m having problems logging in to my online account, what can I do?

Where do I need to go for appointments?

The programme is entirely remote with all appointments taking place via telephone calls or through secure messaging in the Oviva app, so you don’t need to travel to a set location for appointments. This means you can have flexible appointments from wherever you are and at a time that suits you, even during the evenings or at weekends.

Who is Oviva?

Oviva is a provider of NHS services, including dietitians, diabetes specialist nurses, health coaches and psychologists that use technology to make care more convenient and accessible.

We have created a series of expert-led evidence-based programmes to help people with health conditions such as Type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes feel healthier and happier.

How can I log in to my online account on Oviva Learn?

Your Patient Pathway Coordinator will send you an email with your login details and password. Follow the link to www.ovivacoach.com, and copy and paste or type in the 8-letter code in CAPITALS provided in this email.
